I am writing this letter is regards to Christine Brayshaw whom I met and spent a week with in August 2008. Christine and I were both involved in a workshop on Vancouver Island.
I immediately felt a connection to Christine and I strongly believe it was due to her openness, obvious lack of judgment and warm demeanor. Initially without knowing Christine’s “story”, I felt I could communicate openly and honestly with her. Once Christine began to share her personal thoughts, opinions and histories she did so in a way that made me want to open up more and more with her. Like many others, Christine has fought many battles in her life, and by openly sharing this with a group of relative strangers in the way that she did, she quickly gained trust and admiration by not only me but by the entire group.
Christine demonstrated immense dedication to working on not only her own recovery but also to helping others work on theirs. She did so in a non-invasive and non-threatening manner. Christine continues to show this dedication by staying in touch with our group, following through with her after care plan and by consistently detailing her plans and goals for her business ideas.
Christine is a professional woman who has a strong sense of self, confidence and work ethic. Along with these attributes, Christine uses appropriate humor and gentleness to establish healthy human relationships. I strongly believe that Christine Brayshaw will be an extremely successful, resourceful and respected business entrepreneur within the human services/addiction and recovery sector.
